Nigerian singer Flavour has shared a deeply personal story about overcoming a past masturbation addiction, revealing that the struggle began after he lost his virginity and later found himself without a sexual partner.
Speaking during a TikTok Live session with friends, the singer explained that he turned to masturbation after losing contact with the woman he had his first sexual experience with.
According to Flavour, the habit became an addiction after a friend introduced him to Mapouka dance videos from Congo, which he said further fueled the behaviour.
He admitted the addiction eventually became overwhelming, leaving him feeling ashamed and affecting how he related with people around him, even during everyday activities like playing football.
In search of a solution, Flavour said he first approached his mother's pastor, who described himself as a Guidance and Counselling expert. The pastor reportedly recommended a 21-day fast alongside prayer points, but the singer said the addiction returned just days after completing the exercise.
Flavour revealed that he later confided in a bassist he worked with, who suggested that his struggle was due to his age and lack of regular sexual activity.
According to the singer, the bassist took him to a brothel and paid for him to have sex with a woman there.
He said he subsequently began spending money he earned from playing musical instruments on weekly visits to brothels, claiming the experience eventually helped him overcome the addiction.
The singer's candid revelation has sparked widespread reactions online, with many praising his openness about a deeply personal chapter of his life.
